1. Service Scope and Binary Execution (.jar & .zip)

Modbase functions as a lightweight technical catalog and distributor for modifications (Mods) and resource packs (Resource Packs) created by independent third parties.

Files distributed under the .jar format contain executable Java bytecode, whereas .zip packages contain textures, models, sounds and JSON descriptors. When downloading, unpacking or running any package through this platform, the user assumes all risks inherent to its execution in their local operating system and game client.

Modbase provides no guarantees of cross-loader compatibility (Fabric, NeoForge, Forge, Quilt), continuous uptime or flawless performance, and cannot be held liable for software conflicts, worlds corruption or hardware failures.

2. Public Indexing & Profile Claiming

To establish a reliable directory, some project and creator profiles are cataloged automatically from publicly available metadata, open-source repositories (e.g. GitHub) or open community registries. These profiles are explicitly tagged with an "Automatically Indexed Profile" notice.

The original author may at any time claim and take full control of their indexed profile via verification tokens, thereby enabling direct release publishing, profile customization and obtaining the Verified author badge. Alternatively, creators may request immediate exclusion of their listings.

3. Creator Responsibility & Takedown Requests (DMCA)

Users publishing files or claiming pages expressly declare that they own the intellectual property or hold a valid open-source license (such as MIT, LGPL, Apache 2.0 or CC) authorizing public distribution.

The following practices are strictly forbidden:

• Uploading stolen, re-uploaded or unlicensed content without consent from the original developer.
• Distributing malicious payloads, token stealers, RATs, spyware or unauthorized telemetry.
• Providing misleading download links intended to distribute unrelated or harmful executables.

Modbase administration reserves the right to unpublish files, revoke verified badges and terminate accounts in breach of these standards. For formal copyright complaints or takedown requests, contact: admin@edgarlop.es.

4. Privacy Policy & Cookie Guidelines (GDPR)

Modbase is designed on data minimization principles and does not utilize invasive behavioral trackers, third-party analytics scripts or advertising pixels.

• Account Credentials: We store only the chosen username and an irreversible bcrypt password hash. Email addresses and personal real names are never collected.
• Technical Session Cookies: We only issue a standard PHP session cookie (PHPSESSID) via HTTP-only flags to authenticate logged-in creators. Under ePrivacy and GDPR directives, strictly necessary functional session cookies require no consent banners.
• Infrastructure Logs: Standard web server access logs (IP address, user-agent and timestamp) are processed strictly for firewall protection, anti-DDoS filtering and malicious activity auditing, being cleared periodically.

5. Terms Amendments

Modbase may revise these policies as the platform features evolve or when required by technical standards. Continuing to browse, download from, or publish to the site signifies acceptance of the active conditions.
